A Record has fired Record News’ journalism director, Thiago Feitosa. The information was confirmed at Earth this Thursday, 30. The professional had held the position since February 2020, but had worked at the broadcaster since 2009, having held various roles.

The shutdown happened later complaints made by the station’s former anchor, Rhiza Castro, 32, in October this year. The journalist files two complaints, one against the broadcaster and the other against the former director.

At the time, she said on social media that she had been fired from her role because she had been harassed by Thiago Feitosa. “The reason [da demissão] was that I was sexually harassed by my director for almost a year. In the end I suffered retaliation because I obviously didn’t give in. Until I couldn’t take it anymore and filed a complaint with the company’s human resources department. I didn’t file a police report, nothing, I reported this to HR and said, “What are you going to do?” And what they did was fire me two days after the complaint was made,” he began.

Rhiza also said she had received messages from him praising her beauty and that Feitosa had tried to give her wine. However, after failing in her attempts, the presenter lost space on the station.

Wanted by EarthRecord, through its press office, limited itself to reporting the dismissal of the journalist, without however providing details on what led to this decision.

After learning of the firing, Rhiza took to social media to signal her relief. “A feeling of justice done, only those who have experienced this type of violence can understand the pain,” she wrote.
