MC Bin Laden went viral eight years ago with the hit “Tá Tranquilo, Tá Favorável.” Since then, a lot has changed. Now the artist is experiencing a new phase in his career, in which he has entered into international collaborations and explored new musical genres. It is this new context that led the artist to think about changing his stage name, which began to bother him.

“The Gringos see my name as satirical, as a mockery. They don’t even ask“, said the MC in an interview with Splash, on Canal Uol, this first.

‘MC Bin Laden’ was a choice made early in his career: “I was very young. I wasn’t aware of anything, I thought life was a rainbow, I didn’t take life so seriously. He was open to everything, he didn’t care about anything. After understanding the meaning, I wanted to change it. If the public accepts it, I want to make this change. It would be important for my career, because [alinhar] with what I think, with what I believe,” he explained.

His real name is Jefferson Cristian Santos Lima and, wanting to innovate while maintaining his essence, he doesn’t yet know what new name he would adopt. In any case he is considering taking advantage of the launch of a project to implement change.
