The US government refuted the theory of Fox News journalist Jesse Watters, who accused Taylor Swift work secretly for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (BORN). She had no proof of this. The information is from the newspaper Politic.
Questioning how the 34-year-old singer achieved so much success, Watters said it was part of a Pentagon plan against misinformation. Proof of this would be a video of a conference of the NATO Cooperative Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense, from 2019, in which the presenter cites the artist only as an example of a powerful influencer.
“About four years ago, the Pentagon’s psychological operations unit encouraged NATO to turn Taylor Swift into an asset to combat online disinformation,” Watters charged.
For Watters, Taylor Swift’s attempts to encourage fans to vote would also be further evidence that the artist had some sort of deal with the US government. In the 2018 presidential election, the singer increased voter registration among young voters after declaring support for the Democrats.
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh responded and denied the reporter’s allegations that Taylor was secretly working for the government. Quoting Shake it offone of Taylor Swift’s hits, said: “As far as this conspiracy theory goes, the shake it off“. In free translation: “Regarding this conspiracy theory, we will have to get rid of it.”
