After being convicted of gang rape, Robinho is arrested in Santos, southern coast of SP

This Thursday 21st the minister of the STF Luiz Fux denied the former footballer’s habeas corpus Robinho and maintained the arrest order against the athlete. He was sentenced to nine years in prison for the crime of gang rape on a young Albanian girl. The crime occurred in 2013 in a nightclub in Milan.

Robinho was arrested by Federal Police in the building where he lives in the Aparecida neighborhood of Santos, on the south coast of Sao Paulo. He left in an unmarked car with the police and headed to the police station.

Yesterday, the 20th, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) ordered the immediate start of the sentence for rape, defined by the Italian Court.

“Given the existence of a final and unappealable sentence and the possibility provided by the Brazilian legal system to transfer the execution of the sentence, no illegal coercion or violence against the patient’s freedom of movement is foreseen from this point of view “, Fux wrote.
