In the video posted on social media, Tande stressed the importance of public support and was moved by the confusion over his health. “Guys, thank you so much. I’m here to thank you for every message of love, support, concern and prayers,” he said.

In fact, the word “thank you” did not come out of Tande’s mouth once during the speech. The former volleyball player wanted to underline his gratitude towards those who took part in the recovery process. “I just have to thank you. You are spectacular! I would also like to thank the doctors of Clínica São Vicente, the whole body [médico] on the coronary side, which brought these angels that make us have a better quality of life”, he explained.

During his hospitalization, Tande remained in a private hospital located in Gávea, in the southern area of ​​Rio de Janeiro. Less than a week after his heart attack, he says he’s already thinking about returning to his normal schedule.

Despite his past as an athlete and his healthy habits, the former volleyball player admitted to having neglected his health in recent times. “I started to neglect my health a little, I hadn’t taken care of myself for about four years. I had a 98% blockage in one main vein (artery) of the heart and two others with 78% and 73%” , he said.

Tande, retired from the court since 2006, also gave some advice to his followers and friends.
