Britney Spears makes a deal with her father and ends the legal dispute: ‘Complete freedom’

The two fought in court during the 13 years of conservatorship under which the artist lived under the control of Jamie Spears; he requested that the legal costs be paid by the singer

The legal dispute between Britney Spears and your father, Jamie Spears, seems to have come to an end. The singer and the businessman signed an agreement agreement last Thursday, the 25th, at the Superior Court of Los Angeles, in the United States.

The two fought in court over the 13 years of guardianship under which the artist lived under his father’s control. Even with the end of the conservatorship, just over two years ago, he had demanded payment of the singer’s legal costs.

Britney’s lawyer, Mathew S. Rosengart, confirmed the agreement in a statement to the American press, but said the terms were confidential. A report from New York Times revealed that the businessman was asking for $2 million, but it is not known whether this was the amount paid by the artist.

“Even though the conservatorship ended in November 2021, the desire [de Britney] Your freedom is now truly complete,” Rosengart said. “As you desired and instructed, your freedom now includes the fact that you no longer need to go to court or engage in legal proceedings in these matters.”

Jamie Spears’ lawyer, Alex Weingarten, told the magazine People that the businessman is “thrilled that all this is behind him.” “He loves her daughter very much and all she did was protect her and support her. It’s unfortunate that some irresponsible people in Britney’s life chose to drag this out for so long,” he said.

The end of Britney Spears’ conservatorship was ordered by Judge Brenda Penny in November 2021, after 13 years and a strong social media movement in favor of the artist, who spoke out against her father several times during that year.
