An Argentinian Madonna fan travels 28 hours to Rio de Janeiro to see the show

The historic and free show of Madonna will take place this Saturday the 4th on Copacabana beach, in the north of Rio de Janeiro. Thousands of the singer’s fans, from Brazil and abroad, have been arriving in the capital Rio de Janeiro all week for the show. They are expected approximately 1.5 million people until the evening of the show.

The performance marks the last show of the tour “The Celebration Tour”, which celebrates the singer’s 40th anniversary. Excited, some are on duty at the door of the Copacabana Palace, where she is staying, this Friday the 3rd, hoping to see her before the big day. Luís Salgado is one of them. The young man came from Catamarca, Argentina, just to see the Madonna.

“I traveled 28 hours by plane and bus and I am here at the Copacabana Palace waiting for the Madonna. From Catamarca I went to Buenos Aires and from Buenos Aires [peguei] a direct flight to Rio de Janeiro,” said Luís, excited and with an Argentine flag behind his back.

Preparations for the show

On Thursday evening, the 2nd, Madonna tested the stage structure during rehearsals. Some fans at the venue shared images of what we can expect from the show. The faces of Brazilian personalities such as Marielle Franco, Daniela Mercury and Elza Soares were projected on the big screens.
