“I was in the middle of an interview when a message arrived from my sister asking for help following a very serious accident involving our family in Rio Grande do Norte. I made the contacts I needed, which were urgent, but I couldn’t follow the program ahead”, began the host.

On board the boat were the family members of the presenter’s brother-in-law, Gustavo. Gustavo’s father, a 70-year-old man, died during the shipwreck after suffering a heart attack in the confusion.

“There was Gustavo, who survived, and his father, Mr. Acácio, aged 70, a lovely father and a lovely father-in-law, who unfortunately left us. He had a heart attack when he saw the whole situation. He died on the boat before even putting on the life jacket,” he explained.
