“Seriously, when he arrived home with the certificate I almost had a meltdown,” he said in a video posted on September 17. The content has more than 2 million views to date. The influencer, who lives in São José dos Campos (SP) with his family, explained that the little girl’s name is “Alice”, but the certificate arrived with the writing “Alici”.
“The worst thing was that it was on a Friday, so I had to spend the whole weekend agonizing over whether or not this could be resolved. And then, early Monday morning, we went to the registry office to see if it could be resolved. We did the change and when we got there, thank God the girl who helped us was super nice,” he said.
The couple, who have 4 children, were relieved to learn that they would not have to pay a R$180 fee to rectify their newborn’s birth certificate. This is because the mistake was made by the registry office itself. Anderson’s “fault”, in this case, was that he did not check Alice’s full name on the document.
“Be careful: if you tell dad to register the child, don’t forget to send him a small tip,” jokes Fabia Godoi in the video. In the comments to the publication, one Instagram user claimed that it was a “grotesque registry error.” Another internet user commented: “My son had to be called Breno, my husband went to register and put Gustavo because he didn’t like Breno and didn’t want to tell me, he went there and registered with one of the names. Everything about it the child had written Breno.”
