The comfort of a hotel combined with the privacy of staying in a home. That’s basically the idea of Casa Bahia Happinessa business created by the couple formed by the journalist Jessica Smetak and the lawyer Adriano LacerdaIn Morro di San Paoloin Baia.

The luxury property was built for personal use, but ended up becoming a business.
“Our friends, going there, saw that the experience was so incredible, that they said: ‘My God, you have to rent this from here, you have to generate income from this here,’” Jéssica says in an interview with Earth.
The Bahian presenter likes to define the experience of the house as “exclusive”. In addition to the space, with rooms that can accommodate up to 16 people, the venue offers a team to serve guests. The team includes a cook, a waitress and a caretaker. According to Jéssica, the size of the team varies depending on the number of people in the house.

“If we want a rental for 16 people, we will need kitchen help, in addition to the cook. In addition to a single maid, a second maid to make this house spotless,” he explains.
The journalist says that guests can eat all meals at home, since they are already included in the daily price. Before the stay they are asked what they want to eat and the team goes to the market with their purchases. Value is passed on to the guest at a “cost price,” according to Jéssica.
“It’s your private hotel,” he says.

Investment and return
Since she has a public career working for Bahian broadcasters, Jéssica prefers not to share the sum invested in the house. He simply says that because the house was designed for his family’s enjoyment, there were no limits to his efforts to ensure everything was of the best quality.
But the journalist adds that so far she has failed to see a return on her investment. On the other hand, the idea of making it available to guests is going better than expected.
“We are already working a lot, with an audience that comes from outside Bahia. Bahia was not our audience, we talked a lot with people from the Central-West and the South-East”, he says.

The daily rates to enjoy so much luxury in one of the most sought-after paradises in Bahia vary depending on the number of guests and the season chosen. On average, a couple who chooses to stay during the week pays around R$4,300 per night. If increased to the home’s maximum capacity of 16 people, this daily rate would be approximately R$6,000 during the week.
On weekends and during holiday periods, such as New Year’s Eve and Carnival, a stay can cost more than R$10,000. Jéssica and her family will not be able to enjoy this end-of-year holiday period in the house they built. The accommodation no longer has available dates from December 27th to January 25th.
