Mingau, from Ultraje a Rigor, was discharged more than a year after hospitalization due to a gunshot to the head

Rinaldo Oliveira Amaral, known as Porridge of the band Outraged the Penaltyhe was discharged from hospital more than a year ago, after being shot in the head, in Paraty (Rio de Janeiro). The news was released by the agency representing the artist on Monday 7th, with a statement from the bassist’s daughter, Isabella Aglio.

Previously admitted to the São Luiz hospital, in Itaim, São Paulo, Mingau has been referred to a rehabilitation clinic where he will begin a new phase of procedures.

“We thank all the professionals who have cared for my father up to this point: doctors, nurses and technicians, physiotherapists, speech therapists and also the security and cleaning staff who helped him progress until he was discharged from hospital,” Isabella began.

He also explains that the next steps in the musician’s care will be carried out by a new team, and that Mingau has responded very well to the stimuli: “My father continues to teach us to be patient. And he demonstrates absurd strength. He responds to my requests mother and my eyes that express what she wants And every day is a different emotion”

From the accident Porridge was in hit in the head, in September 2023, the artist underwent several surgeries and readmissions. The last surgery, a cranioplasty performed in July 2024, consisted of repairing the bone mass of the skull using a prosthesis. Find out more about Mingau’s speech Here.
