Comedian Craig Robinson escaped a possible shooting situation in a North Carolina cabaret on Saturday (7/16) after a suspect entered the scene with a gun and fired shots threatening those in attendance.
The classic series actor “The Office” and newcomer “Killing It” were preparing to act when the suspect entered the building at around 9pm and brandished a gun, according to the Charlotte Police Department. Mecklenburg. People inside were evacuated and the suspect was arrested shortly after firing the first shots. Nobody was hurt.
Robinson recorded a video shortly after to assure followers that he was safe. He entered a show by the pop band Big Time Rush, which took place near the club. “So, uh, I had to perform at the Comedy Zone in Charlotte, North Carolina. There was an active shooter at the comedy club … so we had to run here for this show,” he explained.
“It was just wild: I was in the locker room and they said, ‘Fute everyone!’ It was certainly an intense moment. “
In a new message posted on Instagram this Sunday afternoon (7/17), Robinson thanked the site staff and local authorities for their swift action: “Thanks to the security and team at The Comedy Zone for quickly getting us to safety. . Thank you all for their support. Thank you to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for their swift action and arresting the killer. I hope he gets the help he needs. Thank God no one was hurt. ” .
