Lais Oliveira AND Eduardo Velosodigital influencers with millions of followers, were arrested this Wednesday (4) in Fortaleza. The arrest, carried out by Ceará Military Policecomplies with a mandate issued by Court of Justice of Alagoas. The couple is accused of being part of a criminal organization involved in a money laundering scheme linked to online gambling, such as the “tigrinho game”.

COUPLE UNDER INVESTIGATION

The trial, which is taking place under judicial secrecy, highlights that gambling had been used as a cover for illicit operations. Laiswho has 4.8 million followers on Instagram, and Edwardat 365 thousand, they are known for sharing routines and experiences as a couple. In September this year the two made their union official, which intensified their visibility on social media.

News of the arrest shocked the couple’s followers, many of whom expressed disbelief at the allegations. The investigations continue and the authorities have not yet set a date for the hearings or the review of the precautionary measures. The case also reinforces the debate about the growing relationship between digital influencers and suspicious activity involving online gaming.
