Gabriele Medinaone of the biggest names in world surfing, had a scare after suffering an injury during training at Praia de Maresias, on the north coast of Sao Paulo, on Thursday (9/1). The athlete injured the pectoralis major muscle tendon of his left shoulder while performing an aerial maneuver. The injury was serious enough to require surgery, which was performed on Saturday (11/1) at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo by orthopedic doctor Breno Schor.
