Vera Wang was born on June 27, 1949 in New York, where her parents emigrated from China. The girl was from a wealthy family, but strict rules reigned in their house, so Vera was not spoiled.

An internship at the Saint Laurent store on Madison Avenue, a position as editorial assistant at Vogue, then senior fashion editor. By the way, Vera became the youngest employee to receive this position. She was then only 23 years old.

Vera dedicated the next 15 years to Condé Nast. After leaving Vogue, Vera, 38, became the designer of the Ralph Lauren accessories line.
