Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez, of the 2022 Oscar-winning film “Rhythm of the Heart”, will undergo a complicated surgery after suffering an accident. The information was disclosed by the wife of the actor, actress and singer Alessandra Rosado, in a statement published Monday evening (29/8) on her Instagram.
Without going into the details of the incident, Rosado said that Derbez is fine, but that “the injuries he has suffered are delicate and in the next few hours he will have to undergo a complicated surgery”.
He said the recovery will be “long and difficult” and will require “many weeks of rest and rehabilitation”. Rosado also thanked the fans for their support and said he feels that “all the good energy you are sending us, with God’s help, will help Eugénio to recover soon.”
Derbez will soon be seen in “Acapulco,” the Apple TV + series he produces and stars in. The second season has already been fully filmed and will debut on October 21st. He also shot “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”, which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
Due to his recovery, Derbez is not expected to attend events promoting these attractions.
