The legendary British comic writer Alan Moore, responsible for classics such as “Watchmen” and “V for Vendetta”, has published a letter on the Brazilian elections, in which he speaks in favor of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Republished from the Alan Moore BR page, of the writer’s Brazilian fans on Facebook, the letter was confirmed authentic by Leah Moore, the artist’s daughter.
“He told me Thursday night that he stayed up until 3am the night before he wrote and he was very proud of it. It’s legitimate,” Leah commented on Twitter.
In the text, Alan Moore reinforces the need to protect the environment and regrets Jair Bolsonaro’s pro-gun culture. “We are rapidly running out of our last chances to save the planet and its people,” he says.
The author also criticizes what he considers the president’s continued attacks “on the indigenous peoples of Brazil, on homosexuals and on women’s rights”.
“As an anarchist, there are very few political leaders that I would be able to tolerate completely, and even fewer that I could approve,” says Alan.
Then praise the candidate PT. “But from what I have learned and read about it, Luiz da Silva, aka Lula, appears to be such a rare individual. His policies seem to be fair, humane and achievable and, as I understand it, he is committed to overturning many of the more disastrous than Bolsonaro
Thursday night he told me he had stayed up until 3am writing it the night before, and he was really proud of it. He is legitimate.
