IZA launches a project that rewards small businesses of black entrepreneurs

With the aim of strengthening and rewarding businesses led by people of color, IZA will launch a public notice that will select the projects of black entrepreneurs. The awards will be held in the food, entertainment, beauty, fashion and social impact business segments. The project will be officially presented on November 20, during the singer’s concert at the Concha AcĂşstica, in Salvador.

The singer, creator of the project, in fact, will make half a million reais available to encourage initiatives by small black entrepreneurs throughout Brazil.

“I have always wanted to invest in a project that has an effective impact on black Brazilian entrepreneurs and the pandemic, which has directly affected the working class, has made me think about how I could use my representation to help these people who suffer so much for unequal access to opportunities and entry into the productive world”, IZA account.

on the prize

Registration will be 100% online and can be done until 11 December. There will also be informative content on all networks and support for any questions you may have. There will be 20 finalists, who will receive entrepreneurship training workshops, and 2 winners per category. The choice of projects will be made by its council and by expert black jurors in each area. The award will take place in April 2023 and the transfer in the following month. All information will be available on the IZA networks.

With the aim of enhancing and giving visibility to entrepreneurs residing in the North and North-East regions of the country, the public notice will allocate 50% of the vacancies to companies located in the states of these regions. Therefore, of the 20 finalists, at least 10 (2 per category) must be from the North and Northeast, and of the winners at least 5 (1 per category) must come from states in these regions.

The project was born mainly with the idea of contributing, in addition to the prize, to racial commitment, the development of black leaders and the qualification of companies.

IZA has her first reference as a black businesswoman in her grandmother. This memory brings us back to the young Isabela Cristina, with dreams and projects that she wanted to achieve, but she didn’t know how.

“I am a black woman, I come from the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro and I know the reality of the peripheral black population. That’s why I wanted to invest my time and money in this project that makes room for some people to advance in their dreams, as well as provide training to many entrepreneurs, I hope that, with this, it can contribute to the insertion of black professionals in the job market and that it can inspire other artists to invest as well”. finally complete.
