CCXP kicks off in SP with Marvel, Keanu Reeves, Jenna Ortega and more




The Comic Con Experience, known as CCXP and the largest geek culture event in Brazil, kicks off this Thursday (1/12) in the city of São Paulo with the promise of filling the São Paulo Expo with many fans, attractions and guests international until Sunday (4/12).

After two virtual editions due to covid-19, the comics, series, films, books, toys, collectibles and games fair returns with all its vigor to its face-to-face version, thanks to extensive planning which lasted almost a year and which was accelerated after the confirmation that the most critical period of the pandemic had passed. The commitment has led to the confirmation of many stars.

Among the guests of this edition the actor Keanu Reeves, the eternal Neo of “The Matrix”, who will promote the next film of the “John Wick” saga, entitled “John Wick 4: Baba Yaga”, as well as talk about the next adaptation of the graphic novel “BRZRKR”, which he wrote and will also star in.

But the huge list of stars also has Jenna Ortega, star of “Wandinha”, the series of the moment on Netflix.

Vivienne Acheampong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Gwendoline Christie will also be present at the Netflix panel to comment on “Sandman” – and Christie will also participate in the panel for “Wandinha” -, Noah Centineo to present his new series, “Recruit”, Park Hae- Soo to anticipate the news of the second season of “Round 6”, Sophi Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain of the upcoming “The Witcher: The Origin”, and the Brazilians Jotappê, Christian Malheiros and Bruna Mascarenhas, protagonists of “Tune”.

Amazon Prime Video will also bring a multitude of its catalog of series: Ismael Cruz Córdova, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Sara Zwangobani and Trystan Gravelle from “Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power”, Michael Kelly and Betty Gabriel from “Jack Ryan”. , Chloë Grace Moretz and producer Lisa Joy of “Peripherals”, and Dónal Finn, Ceara Coveney and Kate Fleetwood of “The Wheel of Time”.

HBO Max brings together actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey to present the highly anticipated series “The Last of Us”, while Paramount+ will present Rodrigo Santoro, Colton Haynes and Shelley Hennig to promote the film based on the series “Teen Wolf”. Series “pack of wolves”.

Besides Keanu Reeves, the biggest film of the event belongs to Marvel. MCU fans will have the opportunity to meet this Thursday (12/1) with producer Kevin Feige, director Peyton Reed and the cast of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, formed by Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Jonathan Majors. And there will also be an appearance by Tenoch Huerta, who recently played the character of Namor in the movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After.”

The Disney conglomerate will still focus on Pixar’s new animation, “Elementos”, and will have the presence of Zoe Saldaña and producer Jon Landau in a panel of “Avatar: The Path of Water”.

To round out the major studio attractions, Paramount Pictures is bringing Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page and Justice Smith, as well as directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, to talk about the film “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels.”

But the event is not made up only of international stars. National programming highlights the presence of Douglas Silva (former BBB and actor in the film “City of God”), Lázaro Ramos (“Provisional measure”), Bianca Comparato (“3%”), Konrad Dantas (Kondzilla), Seu Jorge ( “Marighella”) and Ian SBF (founder of Porta dos Fundos), among many others.

The event will also pay special tribute to Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, director of “Cidade de Deus”, who will participate in a panel on the releases of his production company, O2 Filmes.

Alongside the activities dedicated to geeky content, the public will also be able to meet idols who will be at CCXP to sign autographs and take pictures.

Fans of ‘Chaves’ will have the opportunity to see actor Edgar Vivar, popularly known for his roles as Mr. Barriga and Nhonho in the Mexican series. He will be present throughout the four day festival, marking his third time at CCXP.

Also meeting fans are John Rhys-Davies, known for bringing the charismatic Gimli to life in the classic ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, and Alexander Ludwig, who starred in films such as ‘Bad Boys for Life’ and ‘Games Hunger “, but who is best known for the character of Björn Ironside in the series “Vikings”. He will meet fans and talk about his career and his works.

The event also devotes a lot of space to comics. And this year there will be an icon of Marvel and DC Comics: Jim Starlin, designer responsible for bringing to life characters such as Thanos, Drax, Gamora, Starfox and Dreadstar. Starlin has worked on such classic comic sagas as ‘Batman: Death in the Family’, ‘The Death of Captain Marvel’, ‘Cosmic Odyssey’, ‘Batman: Messiah’ and ‘The Infinity Gauntlet’ – the latter of which was the basis for the first major saga of the Marvel universe in theaters.

Other cartoonists confirmed for the event are Marcello Quintanilha (author of “Lights of Niterói”), Mark Waid (writer of “Superman: Birthright”), Jim Cheung (artist of “Avengers: The Children’s Crusade”) and Aimée de Jongh ( author of “Taxi! – Passenger Stories”).
