Reality television star Chloe Ferry has revealed she underwent corrective surgery to remove excess loose skin following the removal of her Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.
The 31-year-old Geordie Shore cast member shared details of her operation on Instagram on Monday, explaining that she experienced unexpected physical complications after reversing her cosmetic surgeries in January 2025.
Ferry had previously undergone her initial Brazilian Butt Lift surgery when she was 19 years old. Although she had the procedure removed a year ago, she discovered that significant loose skin remained around the area, prompting her decision to undergo further surgery.
Opening up to her followers on social media, Ferry explained that she had not previously shared the full complications of her procedure and had hoped her BBL removal in 2025 would be the final chapter in her surgical journey.
She wrote: "A year ago, I had my BBL removed, and honestly, I thought that would be the end of my journey with it. I thought I could finally move on and put it all behind me."
Ferry added: "Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. I'm now left with quite a lot of loose skin after getting my BBL removed around that area, and after a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to have it surgically removed."
Complications following cosmetic procedure removals
Reflecting on her years of undergoing plastic surgery, Ferry warned her followers that cosmetic alterations often carry long-term consequences that are not apparent when making the initial decision.
She explained that her personal experience taught her that cosmetic surgery is "never as simple as it can look from the outside," particularly regarding corrective procedures and removals.
Ferry wrote: "Especially when it comes to cosmetic surgery, corrective procedures or removals, there can be consequences you never imagine when you're making that initial decision."
She expressed regret over her decision to change her body at a young age, stating that she wishes she "could go back and speak to the 19-year-old version of myself" to tell her she was "already enough" and did not need to "change herself to feel beautiful, accepted or worthy."
A Brazilian Butt Lift, commonly known as a BBL, is a cosmetic procedure that transfers fat harvested from other areas of the body to the gluteal region. Plastic surgeons note that significant weight fluctuations or procedure removals can leave patients with stretched or redundant skin, which often requires surgical skin excision or body contouring to tighten.
Ferry stated that her reason for sharing her health journey was to encourage young women to think carefully before undergoing cosmetic operations, rather than to judge others.
She wrote: "I'm not sharing this to judge anyone who has had, or is considering, cosmetic surgery. Everyone has their own reasons, experiences and journeys."
Ferry added: "I'm simply sharing mine because I wish someone had shared something like this with me when I was younger. If this reaches even one young girl who is thinking about changing her body and makes her pause for a moment and ask herself, 'Do I really need to do this?' then sharing something this personal will be worth it."
Surgeon selection and post-operative recovery
Alongside her statement, Ferry shared photographs taken from her hospital bed, including a photo alongside surgeon Mark Solomos. She noted that "so many people" recommended the practitioner, who "specialises in aesthetic reconstructive surgery."
Ferry wrote: "After speaking with him about what's possible and what to expect, I felt comfortable putting myself in his hands today."
In a subsequent post on her Instagram Stories, Ferry updated her followers on her condition after leaving the operating room, writing that "everything went well."
She voiced her desire to avoid any future operations, writing: "Hoping and praying this is my last surgery, I never want to put myself through this again."
Ferry also posted a photograph of her mother, who visited her after the operation bringing a meal of 20 chicken nuggets to aid her recovery.
Addressing her mother, Ferry wrote: "I'm sorry for putting you through all of this mam, I love you. I know how hard all this must be for you."
Support from Geordie Shore co-stars and TV personalities
Ferry first gained national prominence after joining MTV's reality television show Geordie Shore in 2015 during its tenth series. The popular series, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, documents the personal lives and relationships of its cast members.
Following her post, several of Ferry's current and former reality television co-stars published messages of support online.
Her former Geordie Shore co-star Nathan Henry commented: "Super proud of you for being so open and honest, my little darling speedy recovery and happy healing. Sissy."
Co-star Marnie Simpson wrote: "Sending you so much love Chloe, hoping this is finally the last chapter for you and you don't need to go through this anymore, love you."
Reality personality Lateysha Grace, who originally rose to fame on the 2012 MTV series The Valleys, also responded to the post, writing: "Super proud of you for being so open and honest, it's not easy! Love you."
