Demi Lovato: Brazil ranks second in global Google searches

Brazil ranks as the second highest country in the world for Google search queries about American singer Demi Lovato since her career began in 2008, according to search data compiled by CNN Brasil using the Google Trends tool.

The South American country is surpassed globally only by Puerto Rico, which occupies the top spot in search popularity for the 34-year-old artist. The remainder of the global top five includes Bolivia in third place, Costa Rica in fourth, and Ecuador in fifth.

Google Trends measures public interest in specific search terms relative to overall search volume across different geographic locations and timeframes. In its scoring system, a value of 100 represents the peak popularity of a term, while a value of 50 indicates half that search volume and a score of zero means there was not enough data collected.

Lovato is a high-profile American singer, songwriter, and actress who first launched her entertainment career in 2008 before establishing herself as a global pop star. Her extensive international fanbase has maintained strong online engagement across Latin America throughout her career.

Peak Search Interest in Brazil

Search volume for the artist reached its highest historical peak in Brazil in April 2014, when she brought her concert series to the nation for an extended stay. During that month, the singer performed eight concerts across Brazilian cities as part of her global concert tour, The Neon Lights Tour.

That tour represented the single longest consecutive period the musician has spent in the country during her career. In total, the star has performed more than 20 live concerts on Brazilian soil across multiple tours and festival appearances.

Online interest in the singer is distributed across various regions of Brazil, with southeastern and northeastern states showing particularly high query numbers. The state of Rio de Janeiro leads the nation in total search volume for the pop star, followed by São Paulo in second place, Ceará in third, Amazonas in fourth, and Paraíba in fifth.

Most Popular Songs in Search Queries

Over the past 20 years, several of Lovato's major single releases have generated high search volume among Brazilian internet users. CNN Brasil gathered and highlighted the five most popular songs by the singer based on regional search history.

The hit single Heart Attack ranks as the most searched song in Brazil, followed by the emotional ballad Skyscraper in second place. Her rendition of the soundtrack song Let It Go holds the third spot on the list of top search queries.

Rounding out the top five most searched songs among Brazilian fans are the pop single Give Your Heart a Break in fourth position and the energetic title track Confident in fifth place.
