Emma Heming Willis, wife of actor diagnosed with dementia Bruce Willishas lashed out at the paparazzi begging them to stop bothering him and his family in public.
Emma used her Instagram to issue a message that began by regretting that “It is clear that a lot of education is still needed“, then imparting it herself: “This lesson is for photographers and video cameras trying to get exclusives on my husband. Leave him alone. I know it’s your job, but just leave him alone“.
“Please don’t yell at my husband asking how he’s doing or ‘yippee ki yay’ or whatever… Just don’t. OK? Leave him alone.”
His plea ended by asking that “Allow his family, or whoever is with him that day, can get you from point A to point B safely.”
This month marks one year since Bruce Willis’ retirement from the world of acting was announced due to illness. He was first diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects the ability to speak, write, and understand language. About a month ago, his relatives updated his status confirming that the actor suffered from frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a neurodegenerative disease for which there is no treatment or cure.
The family itself explained the situation in a statement on social networks: “FTD is a cruel disease which many of us have never heard of and can affect anyone. For people under the age of 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because it can take years to be diagnosed, FTD is likely to be much more common than we think. Currently there are no treatments for the disease.a reality that we hope can change in the coming years.”
