Milan and Sasha, the children of Shakira and Gerard Pique, are set to start a ‘new chapter’ in their lives after moving to Miami, Florida.
Apart from the brand new home, both will be joining one of the best private schools in the city for the first time, according to reports.
This is the school that Shakira’s children will attend
Until last week, the little ones were students at the American School of Barcelona, where the educational model is aligned with the standards of the United States, so they will not undergo a radical change.
According to La Vanguardia, Milan and Sasha will attend Miami Day, the same one where Alejandro Sanz’s children are supposed to be studying.
“Children will begin classes on April 11, which coincides with the first day of school after the Easter break, as they call Holy Week in the US,” the report noted.
The institution’s website says the 2023-2024 tuition cost for minors entering fourth grade, like Sasha’s, is $36,400.
Milan, who turned 10 in January, would continue in the fifth grade, whose annual fee at the academy is $40,100.
These fees include: admission, textbooks, Parents’ Association fees, field trips and the lunch program.
However, parents must make sure to buy the uniforms, pay for some extra paperwork and, if desired, a daily shuttle service.
Thus, the interpreter of “Ojos así” will have to spend more than 76,500 dollars this year on the education of her children, an amount that she will probably split with Pique.
The aforementioned Spanish newspaper reports that the ex-footballer “must pay half the bill” created by Milan and Sasha’s apprenticeship, which would be stipulated in the custody agreement he signed with his ex.
Shakira would have analyzed whether it was appropriate to change her children’s school
This year, on April 2, the day the Colombian singer and songwriter left the Catalan capital with the kids, journalist Silvia Taulés, from Vanitatis, gave several details about it.
Supposedly, for example, Shakira did not decide to begin her departure in “The City of the Sun” until she had the approval of Sasha and Milan’s teachers.
“On Friday he asked them again what they thought about the pros and cons of a move at this time,” the communicator said.
With just two and a half months to go until the end of the course, the composer allegedly wanted to know if “this would harm her children”.
“The school administration told them that it was the best time, that there was a long Easter break and that the sooner they got to Miami, the faster they would adjust to their new school,” Taulés said.
So far, Shakira has not revealed the details of her future residence in Miami, where she will live in her $20 million property.
