If there was no “Star Factory” in your life, then …
I would go to Dubai. I had a contract for 3 months. And on December 16, I was supposed to start working there as a DJ: there was a contract, and I already knew how much I would receive, where I would live. For the first time in my life, and I was then 26 years old, I had to spend the winter in a warm country. But I got to the “Factory”. Then I did not understand the significance of this project and how it would change my life. But I knew: even if my someone mocks me, they took me for “cannon fodder” and immediately kicked me out, I’ll go to Dubai and become an international DJing star.
Why are some participants from the “Star Factory” still in demand artists, but the finalists of other similar musical projects are not?
When there was the first “Factory”, there was no such choice in the digital space. Now, on the one hand, it’s easier to surprise – write a song, throw it on the Internet, and on the other hand, this song will easily get lost in a huge selection of new music.
Young artists are missing…
Individuality, some kind of charisma, charm – everything is very banal. Previously, all the same, they were selected according to charismatics. Now you can perform a hit, but no one will recognize you. Then you will run around and prove to everyone: “It was I who sang this song.” Yes, they heard the song, but they don’t know the person by sight. Faceless people now.

If you had to tell the most unusual fact about yourself, what would it be?
There are many and they are all unique. For example, how I became the art director of the Rai club. For Cosmonautics Day, I made a remix of “Earth in the Porthole”, prepared a costume, rehearsed all day. I had to fly out from under the dome, but the guy who was in charge of the equipment did not stop the engine in time, and I was sucked into the ceiling at a height of 20 meters. The cable broke, I fell. But nothing happened to me, only a little hit on the head. The next day I was hired with a good salary. This incident is still remembered by many.
What childhood dream did you fulfill as an adult?
My whole adult life is my dream. I am a super rock and roll star! All the beauties that I liked in my youth are now my friends – Irina Saltykova, Irina Ponarovskaya, Lada Dance, Lika Star, Evelina Bledans … Alla Borisovna was not part of my plans at all, being my girlfriend, she was simply attracted. All of them became my friends, creative colleagues. I see some kind of miracle in this.
What did you spend your first fee or salary on?
I don’t remember exactly. But it was either a turtleneck that I bought with a scholarship, or my first acoustic guitar that I never got to tune.
What now?
On April 22, we, all the participants of the “Factory”, will gather on the stage of the MTS Live Hall. It’s funny that initially I was not among the participants of the concert. I arrived from the tour, got off the train and saw the poster. I immediately called Yana: “Why didn’t they invite me?” She says: “Mish, you forgot. Just human irresponsibility, they will definitely invite you.” So, it turns out, he asked for it. But I’m just inspired by this movement. Still symbolic – 20 years. But it would be very sad if these 20 years would be without new hits. And I released 5 albums, in addition to “Batons and Buns”, I have a two-hour program with which I perform at various venues. I have millions of views on YouTube, my songs are in the tops of Russia’s sentimental alcoholism. And this is the main thing – to be in creative shape at 47 years old. And I recently sang for real, because I didn’t know how before. This is me after filming the program “Come on, all together!” so inspired. Now I can sing anything. Without undue modesty, I will say: there are the most applications for my songs. And I enjoy it very much.
