Adriana Rosa, Palmirinha’s granddaughter who followed in her footsteps and became a pastry chef, said during the presenter’s vigil this Monday 8, that she learned to cook from her grandmother and that she will always remember her as she prepares her desserts.
“I said I was his successor, but it is a very big responsibility. So I try. He taught me everything I know, I have a blessed recipe book, because it is Grandma Palmirinha’s recipe book,” he told the press.
Adriana said she loved cooking with her grandmother, but she especially enjoyed making desserts, such as cakes and puddings. And Grandma’s love ended up extending to her granddaughter, who is now a baker because of the great inspiration she had in her family.
Palmirinha’s niece was even late for the wake because she was delivering a cake. “My grandmother taught us that we must always be responsible, it was a simple cake, but I put a lot of love into it,” she explained. Adriana also added that she will always have fond memories of her grandmother: “I will. I still feel her hand hitting mine when I take the spoon and stir the caramel sauce,” she recalled with a laugh.
According to her granddaughter, Palmirinha loved cooking so much that she never stopped making some of the recipes as much as she could. As she herself says, the family also had to prevent Palmirinha from cooking so much at the end of her life, otherwise she would want to devote the whole day to her recipes. “We didn’t leave much, but at Christmas she said, ‘The chicken is mine,’” she recalled.
“Grandma Palmirinha has embraced Brazil and all of you are her grandchildren, and I can say that it has been a privilege to have lived with them for so many years,” concluded Adriana.
