He decided that he had actually come to the cafe for lunch. In the frame, the actor was supposed to have a full mug of coffee, and Haverland refilled his drink before each new take. When Alicia approached the actor with coffee before the seventh or eighth take, the actor did not let her pour the drink into his mug and said:
Oh no, ma’am, I don’t want any more.
The prop technician tried to explain to him that she was doing it to shoot a scene. However, Willis did not understand her and clarified whether he ordered more coffee. According to Haverland, the sight was “heartbreaking.” She decided to pretend to be a waitress to finish filming the scene. Then the woman convinced Willis that he really asked to add coffee to him.
