68-year-old actor Kevin Costner and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner announced their divorce in May this year, but the couple failed to break up in a good way. The stumbling block in their case was not common children, of whom three were born in 18 years of marriage, but the actor’s chic mansion in Carpinteria, from which Christine refused to leave after the divorce. In a recent statement obtained by TMZ, Costner requested that his ex be evicted through legal action. And she responded with a counterclaim.
In documents cited by the Daily Mail, 49-year-old Baumgartner claims that the actor plans to leave homeless not only her, but also their children.
He wants to leave our children homeless. He wants to kick them out of the house where they have lived all their lives. But he has no legal grounds for this,” Christine says.

Kevin did not remain silent and gave the publication an exhaustive comment on this matter:
I would like to make it clear that I am not kicking our children out of the house. This is their home. Christine and I will share equal physical custody of our children. This means that they will be in their home, in their bedrooms, with their clothes, books, and belongings, for the entire time they are under my care, and any additional time they choose to be there. Our children are teenagers, and they can live either with me or with Christine, as soon as she finds a new place to live. And the children have nothing to do with my request. I only ask that Kristin vacate my house and find alternative accommodations, which she agreed to and should have started doing in April when she decided to file for divorce.
Speaking to reporters, Kevin also set a deadline for the ex-wife to vacate the premises.
I don’t think it’s good for me and Kristin to be in limbo or share the same space after my return. Christine has the financial ability to find housing on a temporary or permanent basis, and I constantly offered to help her in this, but she and her representatives did not respond. I will finish filming in Utah on June 24th and return home on either June 25th or 26th to begin the editing process. I really hope that by July 5th there will be some solution and Christina will vacate my house. It was a very important deal in our prenuptial agreement. Kristin knows that,” Costner says.
The actor claims that all this time he was very patient and from the moment Christine filed for divorce, he did not put pressure on her, but there is a limit to everything.
I just can’t put this question off any longer. Largely due to the fact that I will need to return to my property in Beach Club Road in order to start editing my film and meet the deadlines set by the contract.
Costner said he was “surprised and dismayed” that Christine is refusing to move.
I was married once and after the divorce it turned out that I could not live in my own house. I wouldn’t want this to ever happen again.
Kevin Costner’s net worth is currently $250 million, and according to the terms of the marriage contract signed in 2004, in the event of a divorce, Christine Baumgartner had to move out of the actor’s house, which he bought before their wedding. Costner’s lawyers add that after the breakup, the woman not only failed to fulfill the terms of this agreement, but also debited $ 95,000 from the ex-husband’s credit card without prior notice. This money was spent on lawyers and a forensic accountant.
