Travel and tourism influencer Nataly Castro disappears in Africa: find out who she is

The 29-year-old wants to break the record of having visited every country in the world in 18 months

Travel influencer Nataly Castro has had no contact with her family in more than 60 hours, we read in a post on her Instagram, published by her cousin and advisor. Nataly has more than 100 thousand followers on the social network and disappeared after leaving Republic of Guinea.

The profile of the influencer (@viajesemlimites) informs that she aspires to be the first Brazilian woman to visit every country in the world and that she competes for six world records thanks to her passion for travel. The last post from her in her feed was on October 19th, a birthday post from her.

“I’m inside Cairoto the Egypt“, writes Nataly. “The world is my home and I am happy for the freedom I have to go where I want and when I want. 29 years old, many stories, maturity, knowledge and I carry my essence wherever I go. New cycle, new opportunities, new conquests”, she concludes in the celebratory post.

No communication

The family lost contact with the creator of the content more than two days ago, which is unusual, according to councilor Nayane Carolline. “Even though he hasn’t posted anything these days, Nataly is always in touch with our family.”

On his profile he publishes appeals for news and help in tracking down his cousin. So far, however, the information seems inconsistent.

He says in a series of stories that the last time they found out about Nataly was through a man who would be the last to see the influencer, more than 40 hours ago. “She no longer receives our messages, she doesn’t answer when we call. What she said was that she was leaving from Guinea to Sierra Leone“.

She would go through immigration in Guinea and was still placed in a “station wagon”. “The last person I saw told me that Nataly had not given any news due to lack of news Internet“, we read in a story published on the influencer’s page.

However, in the latest update published by Nayane on @viajesemlimites she reproduces what would be the message of a follower who managed to contact the immigration manager at the border between Guinea and Serra. “She just called me confirming that she was gone Liberia and not in Sierra Leone. And this, according to the documents, was two days ago,” reads the SMS.

Who is Natalia Castro

Nataly kept a channel active Youtube which today has 162 videos. In it, she showed trips she has taken and also vlogs giving advice, such as a step-by-step guide to getting an American visa. The page has been closed for three years. The reason would be the challenge of traveling the world.

In the channel description, she informs that the break is due to the attempt to achieve the goal of crossing all the countries of the globe as quickly as possible and achieving the record of being the first Brazilian and black woman to complete the feat: “200 countries in 18 months,” he writes.

He also performs on the channel. “My name is Nataly, I’m a journalist and digital nomad. I’ve been traveling the world since 2013 and I’ve been sharing a little bit of every place here for 9 years.”

The 29-year-old is from São Paulo and graduated in Social Communication from the Faculdade Paulus de Comunicação in 2015. According to the content creator’s LinkedIn, she is also the CEO of a bar and restaurant in the Butantã neighborhood of the São Paulo capital.

In an interview with the G1 portal last year, she spoke about her plans to travel around the world and the challenges of traveling alone. While she was crossing Poland, she was attacked on the street. “I noticed that people were crossing the street so as not to be on the same sidewalk as me. They pointed at me, they called me black, they called me a monkey, which is a monkey, I began to feel very uncomfortable to the point of crying, starting to cry in the middle of the street because I couldn’t believe the situation I was living in,” he said.

In the same report he also highlighted the difficulties and racism he faces as a tourist. “Being a woman traveling alone is already a challenge, because we go to places where there are security problems, harassment… And being a woman traveling alone is also another challenge because in many places people are not get used to seeing only one person “A black woman going to an airport, a VIP lounge, a restaurant or staying at a resort hotel. What happens is that in many of the places I go I see some looks of curiosity and some looks of racism,” she told G1.
