Alexandre Pires cancels cruise show after passenger falls overboard

The singer’s presentation will take place in the early hours of this Saturday 30th

The attractions of the ship “MSC Preziosa” were canceled in the early hours of Saturday 30th, after one of the passengers fell into the sea. Singer Alexandre Pires was one of the names who would perform at the “New Year’s Eve at Alto Mar”.

OR Earth received a report from a person who was on board and reported that the crash occurred around 1 am following an argument between a couple. The man apparently threw himself into the sea on purpose. At the same time, the ship sounded all audible alarms and the search began.

The ‘MSC Preziosa’ left Santos on Friday 29th with destination Rio de Janeiro. The passenger’s fall occurred before the ship stopped in Angra dos Reis.

Alexandre Pires’ team lamented the accident in an official note: “My condolences go to the family and friends of the person who fell into the sea, from the balcony of their cabin, during the MSC Preziosa cruise. As a sign of respect for the victim and the rescue work, we spoke with the organizers and reached an agreement not to hold the show, which was supposed to start at 1 a.m. We had not yet gone on stage when this tragic event occurred. I apologize to the fans for everyone’s cancellation and understanding for the decision we made.”

The report seeks contacts with MSC Cruises and the Brazilian Navy.
