In most countries, Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th
Although Brazil celebrates love on June 12, Valentine’s Day, the vast majority of countries honor the union on Valentine’s Day, February 14. United States, Mexico, Argentina, Italy, Japan and South Africa are some of them.
The date honors a Roman priest named Valentine, sentenced to death for defending marriage in the third century. At the time the ceremony had been banned because Emperor Claudius II believed that the men involved were not good soldiers. Valentino celebrated weddings in secret.
Before dying, the priest fell in love. On the day of his execution, he sent his beloved a letter with the signature: “From your Valentine”, which led to the sending of letters to the spouses on that date. The feast of Saint Valentine was established by Pope Gelasius, two centuries later.
In Brazil, Valentine’s Day has been celebrated on June 12 since 1948 thanks to the advertiser João Dória, who chose the month to celebrate love due to the few commercial sales in June. But some people celebrate love on both dates.

The former footballer shared a photo with his wife on his Instagram and released a statement to his beloved. “Happy Valentine’s Day to this amazing wife, mother and best friend. I love you,” he wrote.

On the morning of this Wednesday the 14th, Igor published a story together with Aline Wirley and wrote “I love this woman so much, my God”.
Carol Cabrino and Marquinhos
The wife of Marquinhos, a footballer, shared the surprise she received from her partner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. On her Instagram he wrote “I love you my love, more and more every day.”
Romana Novais and Alok
The doctor paid tribute to her husband on her Instagram. In the stories, Romana shared a photo of the two together and wrote “I love you cat”.
