The musician was the son of music producer Ubirajara de Souza, better known as Bira Haway, a major name in pagode and samba. Bira is the brother of Elza Soares. The relationship was only revealed when Anderson was already successful with Molejo, by his own decision.

In 2020 he explained the issue in an interview with the program General balance. “My aunt always asked my father: ‘Leave him, Bira. He likes music, leave him’. And she always told me: ‘You have to be responsible, try a lot, train a lot, listen a lot’. I listened to all possible advice.” , he said.

The singer, at the time, said that he did not want to use Elza’s name to succeed in his career: “Of course, I only said that I was his nephew when I was already known as Molejo. I always really enjoyed being there in my struggle , slowly, with much simplicity and humility I never liked to say that I was his nephew.” I wait:

Still young, Anderson was already playing with colleague Andrezinho, with whom he founded Molejo in the late 1980s. Also known as “Molejão”, the Molejo established themselves as one of Brazil’s great pagoda groups.

On October 13, 2022, Anderson revealed that he was diagnosed with groin cancer. On social media the artist explained that it was a hidden primary tumor.
