After a triumphant victory in a libel case against Amber Heard, Johnny Depp can finally rehabilitate his career. Not so long ago, the 58-year-old actor announced the release of a full-length studio album, which he recorded with his old friend, guitarist Jeff Beck. And the day before, a new single from the disc appeared on the network – the song is called “The Death and Resurrection Show”. This is Depp’s first full release since they covered John Lennon’s “Isolation” as a team in 2020.

The release date of the album is scheduled for July 15th, so it won’t be long to wait. After all, the last time Depp released music as part of the Hollywood Vampires was two years ago – the album “Rise” was released in 2019.

Johnny Depp is also gradually returning to the big cinema. Now he is involved in the filming of the film “The Favorite”, where he plays the main role of the French King Louis XV. There were rumors that the project was financed by Netflix, but representatives of the streaming giant deny this information, emphasizing that the platform simply licenses the film for broadcast in France.

The Favorite will be Depp’s first major acting effort since Andrew Levitas’ 2020 film Minamata, about war photographer Eugene Smith.

Recall that the defamation process has been considered since April 11. Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit against Amber Heard over an article signed by her name in The Washington Post in December 2018. From the text it followed that the actor could subject her to domestic violence. He has not been named, but the plaintiff claims that the text effectively ruined his reputation and career. He demanded compensation in the amount of $50 million from his ex-wife. The actress filed a counterclaim. She claimed that she had been subjected to “physical abuse and abuse” during her marriage.
