José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, better known as “El Taiger”, died on the evening of October 10, after several days of hospitalization for a head injury allegedly caused by a firearm last week.
The family of the 37-year-old singer announced the death of the reggaeton player in a press release published on social networks.
“Unfortunately this afternoon, “El Taiger” was pronounced dead and has now been reunited with his mother in heaven,” the statement said.

Police said they are looking for Damien Valdez-Galloso, 49, a man who may have information about the attack and who lives in Hialeah.

According to official reports, the incident took place on Thursday, October 3, and police chief Manuel Morales ruled out the possibility that the Cuban reggaeton singer had tried to kill himself.
“We can confirm that at this time It wasn’t suicide, it was a criminal act which we investigate. The main reason we are here this afternoon is to plead with the public to help us find a person who is wanted in connection with information in this case. “We are looking for Mr. Damián Valdez-Galloso, he is a 49-year-old resident of Hialeah.”
