Kate del Castillo’s father reveals he can no longer ‘see people’s faces’: ‘I don’t even know who they are’

Don Eric del Castillo has spoken in recent weeks about the complications he faces due to the damage to his eyesight.

The former actor recently shared that “he’s careless,” which is why he didn’t get surgery in time to correct the macular degeneration he’s been suffering from for years.

“Therefore, there is nothing to do except take vitamins to try to stop it,” he told the camera of Siéntese Quien Pueda!, on October 9.

According to the National Eye Institute, this condition is an eye disease: “It occurs when aging damages the macula, the part of the eye that controls clear frontal vision.”

Eric del Castillo reveals he ‘can’t see people’s faces’

After acknowledging his situation, Mr. Eric del Castillo just announced that, in fact, the problem “continues to evolve.”

“Bless God, I will never go blind,” he said, according to statements presented by “Venga la Joy” on November 18.

“The center is erased, but I can see to my sides. I can’t see people’s faces. Then I feel sorry because they greet me very lovingly and I don’t even know who they are,” he said.

Kate del Castillo’s famous father explained that to recognize people you have to “get close” almost to the point of touching their nose.

Previously, the star of soap operas such as Vivir De Amor, which can be seen here on ViX, said that as a result of the condition, he depends on his partner, Kate Trillo, to carry out activities.

Eric del Castillo is not afraid of death

At the moment that his well-being is not 100%, Mr. Eric del Castillo claimed that “I am not afraid of death”, because “it is something natural”.

However, he admitted that there is something about ceasing to exist on the earthly plane that concerns him: “To be separated from my wife and my daughters and my son, because you are already moving into another dimension.”

“But my conscience is clear. I leave happy. “I haven’t hurt anyone as far as I can remember, because sometimes as a kid you make a lot of mistakes,” he said.

However, as the final day approaches, the 90-year-old interpreter plans to enjoy Christmas with Kate del Castillo, so he will travel with his wife to Los Angeles.
