Presenter Raul Gil gets emotional in SBT’s latest broadcast and mentions Silvio Santos’ heirs while reflecting on what he experienced on the station
At 86 years old, Raúl Gil He didn’t mince words in greeting his latest program on SBT. Having been fired from the channel a few weeks ago, he reflected on everything he experienced in the almost fifteen and a half years in which he was part of the company’s staff.
At first he dedicated a message to the daughters of Silvio Santo (1930-2024). “[Quero] Special thanks to the Abravanel family. This year will be a sad year for them, because they would like to celebrate with the presence of our great Silvio Santos”, started.
“I want to thank all of you in the auditorium, the production team, all the girls who helped the Raul Gil program, the security guards, the cameramen, the cable TV men, the whole board,” continued Raul Gil, already visibly moved.
Raul also talked about what he hopes for next year: “May God bless us, give us peace for the world, so that we do not watch so many bombs, so many missiles on TV. We look at the flowers, the love, the joy, the singing, all this is what I want to wish you. Peace, love, work, because there are many unemployed, many who suffer from hunger in this world. All of you, say a prayer to the people you love so much. Thank you very much, happy new year.”

Unemployed, the veteran also dedicated part of his speech to brands: “To our sponsors, to those who believed in the ‘Raul Gil Program,’ and to some who believed in Raul Gil, in his voice, in his interpretation, in sending that message to you, the viewer. Believe me, we do a lot advertising with love, with heart, with affection and SBT is what we have to be most grateful for.”
