Lucas Luco criticizes the lifestyle of influencers on social networks

Lucas Luco used his participation in the “Conversation with Bial” program, broadcast on Monday (23), to openly discuss matters related to mental health. The singer revealed that he was diagnosed with a bipolar emotional disorder in 2023 and has since decided to stop his professional activities to seek care.

“I had no alternative but to stop so that I could take care of me,” said the artist, reporting the moment when he had to cancel his commitments of the agenda after looking for emotional support with his father and other family members.

Lucas shared that the decision, although difficult, was made quickly, since he felt he did not have the strength to maintain the intense work routine. The pressure caused by success still in youth was underlined as one of the factors that contributed to the worsening of its emotional state.

“It was fast, but I think nobody is prepared for this,” he said, remembering the time when he left college to start his musical trajectory in GoiĆ¢nia.

Criticism of the image made by influencers

During the interview, the singer directed criticisms of digital influencers who promote an apparently perfect life on social networks. For him, this type of unreal exposure collaborates with the deterioration of the emotional health of the followers.

“This word, influencer, is a kind of strange deal. Why influence people who show only what is good is easy, right?” He asked. He added: “We ended up making a disservice for people’s mental health.”

The artist stressed that by showing only luxury travel, expensive cars and breathtaking scenarios, many content creators induce the public to believe that the personal value is connected to material goods.

According to him, this directly affects the self -esteem of those who follow this type of content, in particular those who do not have access to the same resources.

Digital activism and incentives for dialogue

After moving away from the stage, Lucas started using his networks to share his experiences with depression and anxiety. He began to defend the importance of openly discussing emotional issues and strengthening solidarity between users.

“For me, it is to make people understand that they are not as sun as they think they are. Because we feel very alone, misunderstood by everyone,” said the singer, who also reported that he had studied the topic while he performed the clinical follow -up.

Lucas also stressed that it is essential that the more influencer use their scope to deal with sensitive topics, contributing to a more human and responsible environment on the Internet. According to him, the goal is to encourage empathy and promote the reception among social networks users.
