15-year-old Prince Christian, second in line to the Danish throne, is changing schools again, but now for ideological reasons. Instead of going to the boarding school Herlufsholm, which was infamous for the documentary “Secrets of the Herlufsholm School” released in May and is located in the suburb of Nästved, 80 kilometers from Copenhagen, the prince is going to attend one of the capital’s most progressive gymnasiums, Ordrup.

By the way, founded back in the 19th century, the school was the first in Denmark to accept students of both sexes, and since then continues to introduce innovative teaching methods. Which seems to go against the values of Herlufsholm, who, thanks to a TV investigation, has come under serious accusations of systemic physical and sexual abuse of older students against younger students, which caused a wide resonance. Note that Herlufsholm was created for the offspring of the Danish nobility – members of the royal family and politicians. Christian’s cousin, Prince Nikolai, also graduated from it. However, after the recognition of 50 students in the psychological trauma received during training, the boarding school is unlikely to be able to restore its reputation.

Note that the monarchs watched the film and even spoke out about this, immediately deciding that the prince would not study in Herlufsholm. However, as well as their youngest daughter, Princess Isabella, who was supposed to go there in the 9th grade. Apparently, the royal family spent the summer months choosing a more suitable educational institution for the prince and princess. By the way, little is known about the prince himself. Only that he has a real chance to become king, because he is the second after his father Frederick in the line of succession to the throne. If this happens, then he will reign under the name Christian XI.

Recall that Queen Margrethe II, who has been ruling since 1972, is now in power in Denmark. On April 16, she celebrated her 81st birthday. The Queen and her late husband, Prince Henrik of Denmark (who passed away in 2018) have two sons. The eldest, HRH Crown Prince Frederick, is now 52 years old. Frederick and his wife, Crown Princess Mary, in addition to Christian, have three more children – 13-daughter Josephine and 10-year-old twins Isabella and Vincent. The 51-year-old youngest son of Queen Margrethe, Joachim, is also a father of many children. He has three sons and a daughter – Nikolai and Felix from his first marriage to Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg and Henrik and Athena from his second marriage to Marie Cavalier.
