The awards, which recognize screenwriting, revealed winners in nine jury categories, including film and television. this included don’t look up From writer Adam McKay to comedy, Star From Matt Harris to a dramatic feature and Charm From Charis Castro Smith and Jared Bush to the family function.

The event was hosted by Larry Wilmore and the MCs included Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Humanitas Chairman Jenny Bix. The 2020, 2021 and 2022 New Voices Fellowship cohorts, the David and Lynn Angell College Comedy Award and the Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award were also awarded.
