A few hours ago, the new King of Great Britain, Charles III, returned by plane to London from Scotland, where Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle on Thursday afternoon. On the air of all national TV channels, one could see how Charles greeted his subjects by the fence of Buckingham Palace, shaking hands with some, and at the same time accepted their condolences.
Coming out of the Royal Bentley, which followed from Northolt Airport, His Majesty immediately approached those gathered at the palace. After a short conversation with his subjects, he and Queen Consort Camilla inspected a spontaneous memorial of flowers, letters and portraits of Elizabeth II (local journalists say that the city’s flower shops ran out of flowers), and then retired to the palace. By the way, the personal flag of the king now flutters over him, indicating that he is in his London residence.
