Excerpts from 53-year-old Matthew Perry’s candid memoir, Friends, Lovers and Something Terrible, continue to appear in the press. In the book, the actor admits that for many years he was in love with his colleague Jennifer Aniston, whom he met before the filming of Friends. Perry claims that he fell in love at first sight, and had romantic feelings for Jennifer throughout his 10 years of work on the cult television project. According to the actor, he repeatedly invited a colleague on dates, but she refused, wanting to maintain friendship.
To which I blurted out: “We can’t be friends!” Perry recalls.

In the new book, Perry, who played Chandler Bing in Friends, recalls how he suffered from unrequited love, and then completely abandoned attempts to woo Jen when she began dating Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt in 1998. Perry noted that he was terribly worried, scrolling in his head literally every interaction with his beloved.
Note that another actor of “Friends”, David Schwimmer, also confessed his feelings for Aniston. At some point, there were even rumors about their romance. In September last year, the actress personally denied this information.
In new memoirs Perry also spoke candidly about the bad habits that almost made him did not lose his life. He confessed that spent $9 million fighting addictions. Also in the text actor spoke harshly about colleague Keanu Reeves. “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing” hits bookshelves November 1st.
