The presenter Luciana Gimenez (53) shared a video on Instagram of the moment she was rescued in the snow, after the serious accident she suffered in the US and forced her to undergo emergency surgery.
The disc shows the presenter completely immobilized, being carried on a stretcher through the snow, down the mountain. In the caption, he described how he felt at the time of the accident.
“The first thing that came to my mind at the time of my accident was my children. Even in the greatest pain I’ve ever felt, I just thought about putting them in my field of vision and also not screaming, because I didn’t want to ” I didn’t want them to be scared. I had a protective instinct that I had never experienced before. I was hurt and just wanted to make sure they were okay,” she said.
She also talked about the excitement of hearing her children’s voice right now: in the video, they can be heard saying that they will visit her in the hospital and that everything will be fine.
“That moment I remember having other people before, but the amazing thing is that even with more people talking, Lucas’ voice was the one that stood out, it was like his voice was my guide, my comfort,” she says .
And he continued: “I will never, ever, ever forget the phrase I heard from Lorenzo when they started preparing me to go down the mountain: ‘Everything will be fine with you, mom! We will be with you’. At that moment, I was sure that everything would be resolved, that’s where I managed to calm down the most, that’s where I was most sure, the only certainty I have: we will always be together, no matter what.”
Luciana had an accident on January 7, while skiing in Aspen in the US state of Colorado. She was on a steep, high-speed track when she lost control and fractured four different places in her left leg: she had two tibial fractures between the knee and ankle and fractured her fibula in two other places.
Gimenez was rushed to the track and then taken to a local hospital.
The presenter underwent surgery in which pins were inserted into her leg to stabilize her tibia.
