The joint project of two dissimilar brands has already been described as a union made in paradise and “the most atypical collaboration” of the year. Hard to argue with that: Gucci’s retro style and adidas’ Olympic stripes seem hard to combine, but at the same time, their joint line has really blown all the fashion news. Personally, we were thrilled with the brand new sweatpants and the unexpected looks with them – rather, look!
Even the most daring fashionistas had a hard time getting used to the idea that adidas and Gucci were preparing a collaboration of the year. No one doubted that it would turn out as well as possible – what could a mixture of flared pants and “Adidas” brand stripes look like? The question is whether it will be possible to carry this miracle of brand friendship into real life. After the fall-winter show, where Alessandro Michele showed the first fruits of the collaboration with the sports giant, we were visited by the same thoughts – cool, unexpected, but that does not seem quite acceptable for a walk in the city – even progressive Singapore and New York, which hasn’t seen this.
And then they looked closer and – what’s that, Anna Wintour in a three-striped dress? And Madonna’s son, David Banda, also wearing a dress?
