Shows at the Paris Fashion Week are pouring in from a cornucopia – just have time to update the tapes. Following Chloé, Balmain, Saint Laurent, Dior and many other brands, Off-White also presented a new collection. For the first time, this happened under the leadership of a new creative director, Ibrahim Camara, who was invited to this place after the tragic death of designer Virgil Abloh (recall, oncology became the reason for this).
The debut, from the point of view of fashion critics, can be called successful: the designer decided not to repeat the codes and patterns of Abloh, but to bring his own style to the brand’s aesthetics. “Anatomical” prints, which another brand is famous for – Sciaparelli, all shades of blue, styles of overalls for astronauts and balaclavas – all this was seen by the audience during the show. And a fun detail of all was the spring-heeled shoes and boots that many of us had in childhood.
There were quite a few celebrities in the front row of the show: Romeo Beckham’s ex-girlfriend, blogger and model Mia Regan, Tina Kunaki, Winnie Harlow, Adut Akech, Erika Badu, Evan Mock and Naomi Campbell. The latter chose a very effective and stylish look for the event – a closed white maxi-length dress with an unusual relief, complemented by futuristic sunglasses, white sandals with steady heels and a diamond ring.
