A few hours ago, one of the most important events of the season took place in Paris – the show of the new spring-summer collection of Chanel. This time, Virginie Viard was inspired by the era of black and white cinema, in particular, the film “Last year in Marienbad”, filmed in 1961 by Alain Resnais and the images of the main character. She wears throughout the film golden slip dresses, sequined evening dresses, “Hollywood” capes with feathers and stuff like that. At the same time, elements of the 80s fashion – polka dot print and trouser suits – somehow “got in” in the line.
But the design of the location was perfect – the walls, floor and ceiling were covered with black and white photographs from the brand’s past advertising campaigns, and each guest in his place in the hall was waiting for a small black bag with presents and a large album with pictures of Kristen Stewart. Yes, the long-time muse of Chanel and the favorite of Karl Lagerfeld became the face of the collection, but she herself did not appear on the podium. Kristen came to the show arm in arm with the bride Dylan Meyer, however, in the front row was not sitting with her, but with Charlotte Casiraghi.
The show began with the projection of a small film on the big screen, in which Stewart starred, and then the catwalk itself began: the audience saw branded tweed suits with feather decor, evening dresses with thin straps and much more. The show was opened by Rianne Van Rompuy. In addition to Jill Kortlev, Loli Bahia, Vittoria Ceretti and Mona Tugaard, Irina Shayk took part in the show – this is her debut fashion show for this fashion house.
The guests of the show were also Diane Kruger, Naomi Campbell, Camila Morrone, Halsey, Stromae with his wife, Caroline de Maigret and others.
