Sympathetic support of local artists
The global brand Puma continuously supports local talent, not only in the world of sports, but also in the world of art and design. Thanks to this, timeless local collaborations are created. After a successful collaboration with the young artist Jan Bican, with whom in 2020 they created a bold collection of sweatshirts working with the theme of the analogy of the life of animals in captivity, with the necessary isolation of society during the pandemic. Now he comes up with a topic looking at life through the lens of a roller coaster metaphor, which can also be perceived as a metaphor for the social events of recent years. With Horská dráhy, both parties are moving even closer to upcycling, which is part of the DNA of both brands.

“The combination of iconic PUMA sweatshirts, the upcycling trend and the artistic vision of Jan Bican could not have gone better. We are very happy that together with PUMA we can participate in materializing the visions of courageous artists like Honza and thus offer unique pieces that will forever be a symbol of connecting the handwriting of a talented Czech artist with the trust of a progressive global brand.Marketing manager Lucie Hložánková adds to the collaboration.
Young creative
Jan Bican is only twenty-four years old, a talented creative who is a prominent representative of a new generation living by its own rules. “My name is Honza and I am officially an economist. Alas, neither body nor soul! I understand accounting like astronomy, and I know tax returns so well that I prefer not to do them myself. To convey my drawings and paintings beyond the boundaries of my sketchbook or canvas. Not just hanging above the sofa, but directly on yourself, your clothes or accessories.” artist Jan Bican describes his work. Honzo’s life itself became the inspiration for creating the collection, or rather a holistic philosophy of life, which is symbolized by the central motif of the figure, who drinks from the chalice the joys and sorrows of life, thus symbolizing its duality. She is aware that both of these opposite poles simply belong to life and together they create a harmony of being – a cocktail of life’s roller coaster trajectory.

“I am very happy to be reunited with the PUMA brand. This time together, we bring you autumn must-haves that you need in moments when your hair is flying and adrenaline and sweat create heat on the slow way up. Just like when you’re driving down a steep hill. Coldness, fear and loneliness are recalled in intense waves. Who wouldn’t see themselves in that? Well, it’s not called life for nothing. Rollercoaster,” author Jan Bican describes the essence of cooperation. The Roller Coaster collection includes classic sweatshirts, cropped sweatshirts and classic t-shirts from the PUMA BETTER collection – all complemented by Jan Bican’s unmistakable artistic signature. The campaign for the collection features performers such as Zea and Dominika Hašková, presenter Martina Bechyňová, Adam Zak and the author Jan Bican himself. The collection was photographed by Jakub Zeman in the newly opened Andaz Prague hotel in Prague. The collection is definitely this year’s must have. Having a comfortable piece of clothing with an artistic signature in your wardrobe is a fashion delight.
Products from the Bican x PUMA collection are available in limited quantities from October 5 on the website janbican.cz
