Knitwear is a basic material that you can’t do without in autumn. Therefore, every girl has such sweet dresses, sweaters or suits in her wardrobe. But from year to year the trends for them change, and we decided to tell you which models should be left to gather dust on the shelves this season (they will probably not wait for their finest hour yet). Prom is still dominated by minimalism, so turtlenecks, dresses and plain suits are very popular. But if you add too much decor to such a model, then the fashionable thing will become the main knitted anti-trend. The excess sequins, rhinestones and feathers will instantly turn you into a Christmas tree! But if the soul still needs a vacation, it is better to pay attention to knitwear in the color block style.

Low waists, corsets, mini skirts – many 2022 trends are back from the glamorous 2000s. However, some trends cannot be restored, and a long fine-knit cardigan has just ended up on the blacklist. It came back to us already in the 2010s, then it was worn by all the stars from Naomi Campbell to Rihanna, and models with an asymmetrical hem were considered the most relevant.

It’s no surprise that the trend inevitably disappeared from the catwalks after its wild popularity, and we’re still not ready for its return. The functionality of the product can be questioned (it is unlikely to heat up) and the material is so thin that it looks cheap. Therefore, this season it is better to pay attention to voluminous cardigans of denser fabric. Such an element of the wardrobe hides the “extra” centimeters at the waist and transforms girls of any age.

Unexplained asymmetry

By the way, in the 2010s, the asymmetrical cut was popular not only among cardigans. Fashionistas bought sweaters and dresses that were longer on one side than the other. Images with a sweater over one shoulder were especially popular. But we don’t miss those moments at all and we also advise you to refrain from nostalgia. It is better to replace the outdated model with tight knitwear with a V-neck. But do not be afraid to experiment! Try wearing a sweater over a bare body so that the neckline stays in the back. This is a good alternative to the old drop shoulder version.

Bat sleeve

If you want to repeat images of Kim Kardashian, be extremely careful. The star has not always had good taste, and once almost all stylists’ nightmares were collected in her wardrobe. One of them was a sweater with batwing sleeves. If you are not going to a costume party in the image of Batman, it is better to refuse such models. In such an outfit, even the most slender girl will visually have a few extra pounds. It’s time to forget the existence of the “mouse” cover, like a nightmare!

A collared sweater is a must-have for a chilly fall, but only if it’s not a yoke collar. It will not help you warm up or decorate your outfit. From a thick or thin fabric, very loose or almost below the throat – it is better to leave any of these options in the past. With such rounded pleats around the neckline, you risk looking much older than your years. Thus, this season we suggest that you favor voluminous silhouettes with a high collar or a “ski” sweater with a zipper. With such basic models you can create a huge number of current looks, so they will certainly not be superfluous in your wardrobe!
