After dizzying achievements as creative director of the Gucci brand, Alessandro Michele is leaving the company, representatives of the French conglomerate Kering have officially announced this. According to Reuters, the reason was the disagreement between the legendary designer and the top management of the brand.
Gucci today announces that Alessandro Michele is stepping down as Creative Director of Gucci. Alessandro Michele has been at the Maison’s creative helm since January 21, 2015 and has played a fundamental role in shaping the brand into what it is today through his pioneering creativity while remaining true to the Maison’s well-known codes.
Tomorrow, November 25, by the way, the designer turns 50 years old.

Note that in total, Michele worked at Gucci for 20 years – at first he was responsible for the men’s direction, and then became creative director. The designer is said to have “reinvented the brand” and is hailed as the true sensation of the year in the fashion industry. Who will take the place of Michele remains a secret for now.
Recall that the Kering group of companies was founded in 1962. The current owner is French billionaire Francois Pinault. In addition to Gucci, the conglomerate includes brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and others.
