Let’s be honest: what to throw away and what to leave in 2023 – we sort out the wardrobe with an expert

Well, here we are with you and celebrated the long-awaited New Year! Very soon it will be necessary to return to colleagues, deadlines, appointments… We suggest that you break the work mode into updated images: we are starting an audit in the cabinet!

A new chapter, a new year, a new opportunity to make a fresh start in careers, relationships, hobbies, everything. The perfect time to clear space and create the conditions for transformation. Have you heard the phrase “If you want a new result, use new means”? Your wardrobe – and there are new ways in which you can increase self-esteem, change the image and simply simplify morning preparations. And today we will deal with this question closely – we will decide what is worth leaving in your closet in 2023 and when it is time to say goodbye.

Stylist Megan Watkins tells which models she would not spare, and which, on the contrary, will serve you faithfully.

High waist skinny jeans

The first thing Megan advises getting rid of is high-waisted skinny jeans. Yes, in some cases, skinny and skinny jeans look great, but that requires thoughtful styling and the perfect shape. “Choose mid-rise, low-rise, boyfriend or wide-leg styles for a comfortable fit that’s perfect for your winter wardrobe,” advises the expert.

Biker boots

While bikercore remains a strong trend, Watkins suggests replacing it with something more versatile. It’s simple: if you haven’t tamed your huge rocker boots yet or don’t put them on more than three times a season, you should replace them with, say, Cossacks. Meghan confirms: “These cool western boots are making a comeback this season. They can be paired with mini skirts and long midi dresses for a casual look.”

Screaming yellow gold

Yes, gold elements are still used by the most famous designers, and there is nothing wrong with traditional yellow gold. But not if you’re not wearing anything else. “Try to mix up your jewelry accessories by pitting silver against gold,” advises Megan. You will get the same effect by combining yellow gold and white gold: playing on the contrasts is always spectacular!

blazer

How many great outfits have been ruined by the wrong jacket! If you’re wearing a thin, fitted, short-sleeved jacket, we have bad news for you: it’s time to say goodbye. “If we’ve learned anything from the 2023 runways, it’s that the looser the patterns, the better,” advises the expert. Stylish oversized jackets haven’t hurt anyone, trust me!
