Finos Film, one of Greece's oldest film production companies, marked the birthday of actress and singer Zoi Fytoussi with a tribute video posted to its official Instagram account, honouring the memory of a performer born on this day in 1933.
The video features scenes drawn from Finos Film productions in which Fytoussi starred, appearing alongside other well known figures of Greek cinema, including actor Alekos Alexandrakis and actress Aliki Vougiouklaki, among others.

In the caption accompanying the post, Finos Film described Fytoussi as charming, expressive and highly combative at every stage of her life, calling her a great singer, actress and writer. The company said her characteristic, warm vocal tone and the theatricality of her performances had made her one of the most distinctive presences in Greek song during the 1960s. It added that she was born on this day in 1933 and that she is remembered through moments captured in four Finos Film productions.
Who was Zoi Fytoussi
Fytoussi built her career in Greek cinema and music through her work with Finos Film, the production company founded in Athens by Filopoimin Finos that became one of the most influential forces in Greek popular film making, producing many of the country's best known commercial films of the mid-20th century. Alexandrakis and Vougiouklaki, her co-stars in the productions featured in the tribute video, were themselves among the most prominent names in Greek film and music of that era, with Vougiouklaki remembered as one of Greece's most popular actresses and singers.
A recurring series of tributes
The post on Fytoussi is one of several tribute videos Finos Film has published in recent weeks to mark anniversaries connected to the company's history. On 1 September, Finos Film honoured its founder, Filopoimin Finos, on the anniversary of his birth 118 years earlier, and on 16 July it paid tribute to actress Mary Chronopoulou with a similar video.
