Gaz Beadle has revealed the name of his newborn daughter after welcoming his first child with girlfriend Maia Ellen. The 38-year-old Geordie Shore star shared the news in a post on Instagram on Sunday evening, naming his baby girl Maeve Mary Shirley Beadle.
Revealing her full name in the caption, Gaz wrote: "Maeve Mary Shirley Beadle. 08/09/26. 10.09pm. 9lbs. Our chunky girl, completely worth the wait. We couldn't love you more if we tried."
Gaz found fame on Geordie Shore, the MTV reality show set in Newcastle that has launched several stars into the wider celebrity spotlight since it began in 2011. He and Maia, who is a nursing graduate, are yet to welcome further children together, with Maeve their first as a couple.
Alongside the announcement, Gaz shared a picture of Maeve cuddled up on his chest as he practised "skin to skin" with his newborn daughter. Underneath the image, Maia wrote: "Our beautiful girl, she loves her daddy more than anything."
Gaz announces the birth
Gaz first announced the birth by sharing photographs from inside the hospital, beaming as Maia lay on the bed holding their newborn daughter. He captioned the post: "She's here after 40 hours of what felt like a life time @maiaelx was incredible... there really is no other feeling like it she is perfect... Time to get her home."
Fellow Geordie Shore stars Abbie Holborn and Chloe Ferry were among those who sent their congratulations following the announcement. Chris Hughes wrote: "Congrats guys, beautiful!" while Dan Osborne added: "Congratulations mate!"
Trying to bring on labour
Earlier in the week, before Maeve's arrival, Gaz and Maia had joked that they were "trying everything" to bring on labour, with Gaz filming Maia dancing and jumping around. He captioned the clip: "POV: You're overdue and have officially reached the 'dance this baby out' stage. We've tried everything. Baby girl 'absolutely not.'"
After followers sent in their own tips, Maia responded: "Thank you all so much for sending your tips and messages! When I say I've been trying EVERYTHING for days now and nothing is getting her to budge think it is time to accept she will come when she is ready and none of these things will work until she is."
The pregnancy and gender reveal
Gaz first revealed in February that Maia, 24, was pregnant, sharing a clip of her having an ultrasound scan on Instagram. The couple then revealed in April that they were expecting a daughter, sharing footage from their baby shower in which they stood in front of a giant sign reading "Baby" before a bright pink smoke cannon went off.
Gaz captioned the video at the time: "Baby Beadle is..... OH MYYYY GOOOOOD!!!!! GIRL!!!!! Mini @maiaelx - Girl dad era continues. Absolutely smashed this display @chaselanefireworkdisplays especially in that wind."
Gaz's family with ex Emma McVey
Gaz went public with his relationship with Maia in 2024 and has previously described her as "inspirational" for helping him through his split from ex-wife Emma McVey. Gaz and Emma, who married in July 2021, are parents to two other children, Chester, seven, and Primrose, four. The couple split two years after marrying.
Reacting to Maeve's arrival, pregnant fellow Geordie Shore star Sophie Kasaei commented: "2026, the year of the Geordie Shore babies, congratulations." Marnie Simpson wrote: "Omgggg congratulations," while Sam Gowland added: "Congrats mate."
